North West LGBT Unison and BiPhoria will be distributing pink, purple and blue bisexual flags to venues around the city’s gay village to fly for Bi Visibility Day (and hopefully keep up thereafter).

Wednesday 23rd September the University of Manchester main students union building will have a bi visibility / info stall.

It’s being hosted by BiPhoria and will run from 11am-5pm.

Manchester flies the flag

UK flag[UK] September 23, the University of Manchester.

Wednesday 23rd September the University of Manchester will for the third year running fly the pink, purple and blue flag at University Place with a nearby table of information about how the university now supports bisexual staff and students.

There will also be an online quiz organised by the University LGBT staff network.  Watch this space for a link!


Appropriate for a Manchester Bi crowd

UK flag[UK] Manchester. The LGBT Foundation have a Bi Film Night for Bi Visibility Day.

It’ll be happening on Friday 18th September, at LGBT Foundation, from 6.30pm til around 9.30pm. There will be a screening of Appropriate Behaviour, the story of Shirin, a twentysomething, bisexual Iranian-American woman negotiating her troubled love life in Brooklyn, followed by a discussion about the film.

Imperial Bisexuality

UK flag[UK] Out In Salford are organising a bi & bifriendly coffee meet at the Imperial War Museum for Bi Visibility Day.

It’ll be the Saturday (26th) from 10am to early afternoon. More details soon – and though it’s on Salford Quays the museum is technically in Trafford. They do say it’s queer up north.

Daytime Bi Visibility stall in Manchester

UK flag[UK] Manchester – tomorrow sees a Bi Awareness stall running all day at the main University’s student union building on Oxford Road.

Local bi group BiPhoria tell us:


“We’ll be running a bi stall in the entrance of the main student union building all day, with info about student support as well as BiPhoria and other bi organisations”

“Drop by and see us between around 10am and 4pm!”

Manchester computers go pink, purple & blue

UK flag[UK] ManchesterStudents at Manchester University are getting an extra splash of bisexuality awareness on the big day.

Across campus all the university computers have had their screensavers changed to a message about Bi Visibility Day, even including a link to our Facebook page and Twitter.

The student union building is also hosting a bi info stall, while the bi flag flies from buildings on campus.

The university is the largest single-site university in the UK with around 42,000 students.
